it's been a wild and wooly election season and no matter where your leanings lie on the political spectrum, the beautiful thing about the late fall and early winter is that it is a return from the high and lofty to the very close at home.

in the spirit of closeness, warmth and welcome, red is readying for the holidays.  we're thinking about those fun, sweet hours around thanksgiving when you'll set up a tree, or create a christmas vignette.  maybe you'll be mailing a little holiday cheer to a college student or an older friend.  

fascinated by our own love of community rituals - hanging lights, decorating trees, gathering gifts and cooking to share the season's tastes as well as sights and sounds - we're enlivened by the days to come. whether you'll be celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, or simply time together, its fascinating to think about all the years that we as a social group have rallied together to create a sense of time, of significance, of joy.

this is one of our favorite times at red.  as a small, independent store, located in a small and well touristed town, we take sheer pleasure in welcoming hundreds of new people into our world and vision.    but more than that, we are gleeful at the return of old friends each holiday season.  we're indebted to your ongoing support and care for red and in thanks, we've been working hard to give you the best we've got for the 2012 holiday season.
