to this end, the above map and guide below focuses on our newest acquisition - red: Organic Couture, a fully organic and environmentally responsible custom upholstery line from one of our favorite makers and crafters of fine furniture. 1. Seat Cushions: red's standard cushion is now renewable, soy based foam, with fiber wraps in 100% cotton down proof ticking. the soy-based foam replaces 20% of the petroleum-based ingredients with renewable, soy-based polyol. our upgrade is the luxuriously soft Eco-Lux cushion made with a soy-based foam core warpped in corn-based Ingeo fibers blended with down and feathers. Ingeo is the world's first man made fiber derived from 100% annually renewable resources. both reduce the amount of petroleum based products used, which is better for our homes and our environment.
2 & 3. Back & Throw Pillows: pillows are made from 100% recycled fibers taht are created from clear and white plastic bottles. the Eco-Lux upgrade is also available.
4. Seat Deck & Trim Pads: Pads are made up of 80% regenerated fibers.
5. Arm Padding: Foam padding is Preserve foam with soy-based BiOH polyol which replaces 30% of petroleum-based products.
6. Fabrics: our premium selection of fabrics includes several natural and organic fabrics.
7. Frame: constructed with engineered wood panels from FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) and SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative), these panels use less old growth timbers and maximize lumber yields. Even more, the springs used in our frames are made from 80% recycled metal.
8. Recycling: throughout the crafting organization, we recycle paper, plastic, aluminum products and cardboard. in manufacturing, all fabric, trimmings and fiber waster are recycled through a national waste management company who, in turn disbributes almost 100% of our raw materials for use in other products.
as part of our commitment toward a better future, one tree will be donated to American Forest for every piece of red: Organic Couture sold.
